Diving Deeper into the Design
When we think of our most basic needs, we often think of food, water, and shelter. But after a devastating earthquake struck Haiti in 2010, we realized there was another critical need after disasters: light. We set out to design a portable lantern that could be easily distributed after disasters, didn't require any additional parts, and would hold up to extreme conditions. Thus the LuminAID light was born. Now, everyone's getting the bright idea: backpackers in Whistler, families in California, boaters in South Carolina, and emergency workers in Nepal.
