Shark Tank Puerto Rico Update

LuminAID is back to light up Shark Tank, just in time for the holidays! The new episode features LuminAID's partnership with Convoy of Hope to bring safe solar light and charging to families left without power in Puerto Rico, after a devastating hurricane season.

LuminAID is back to light up Shark Tank, just in time for the holidays! The upcoming episode, called “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas,” will highlight innovations centered around the holidays and giving back. We're honored that our partnership with Convoy of Hope to get safe light to Puerto Rico will be shared with a national audience.

The new episode airs Sunday December 3, 2017 at 9pm EST on ABC. Make sure to tune in!

This year we've seen how important safe light is for families after natural disasters. The new Shark Tank will feature Anna and Andrea's trip to Puerto Rico to help communities severely affected by the storms. Tune in to how their work with relief partner Convoy of Hope in the city of Bayamón touched the lives of families recovering in Puerto Rico.

Convoy of Hope has also distributed LuminAID solar devices to south Texas communities after Hurricane Harvey and to the British Virgin Islands after Hurricanes Irma and Maria. We're so proud to work with Convoy of Hope, who have also served over 2.5 million meals and over 215,000 families in Puerto Rico. LuminAID has also shared solar light with families affected by the hurricanes in the US Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands, Turks & Caicos, St. Maarten, Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, St. Kitts & Nevis, and the Dominican Republic.

We've been excited to see how our PackLite Max 2-in-1 Phone Charger, just released this year, is having such a big impact for humanitarian relief. With more powerful LEDs, longer run time, and new phone charging capabilities, the PackLite Max 2-in-1 Phone Charger is allowing families to keep in touch with loved ones and emergency services. "Out of all the products I’ve seen and tried, [LuminAID] meets the needs during times of disaster. It brings light and comfort, but it gives people the chance to stay connected by being able to charge their cellular devices,” explained Paul Coroleuski, Convoy of Hope Director for Hurricane Maria relief.

A man without power receives safe solar light in Puerto Rico

This season we've seen unprecedented grassroots mobilization through our Give LIght Get Light campaign and community organizing, resulting in over 50,000 solar lights and chargers pledged for families in need this fall. This has only been possible with your help. For this holiday episode, we like to think of it as a celebration of communities coming together to support communities in their time of need. This is the meaning of the season of giving, and we can't tell you how proud we are to work with friends like you.

Thank you for helping us shine.

Our first time on Shark Tank was on Season 6 in 2015, when Anna and Andrea received offers from all five sharks. They closed a deal with investor Mark Cuban, who became LuminAID's first investor. During Season 8 of Shark Tank in January 2017, we appeared for a second time in a follow-up episode to show our continuing innovation. Now on Season 9 of Shark Tank, we are so excited to share our mission for safe light a third time!
