Our company was recently featured on CNN's "Start Small, Think Big" segment about small businesses bringing new technologies to market. The segment focused in particular on our company's mission to make solar lighting a regular part of the relief aid supplies that are distributed in the event of a natural disaster or crisis. We designed the product shortly after the Haiti earthquake in January 2010 and have distributed more than 1000 lights in Haitian tent cities over the past year. Special thanks to our partner, Can-Do.org, for their continued support of the LuminAID light and for shooting the featured video footage down in Haiti.
As we head into the last days of summer, it’s time to fire up the grill and take advantage of the warm summer nights while you still can. With sunset coming sooner, just keep a few LuminAID lights on hand to illuminate your grill and dinner table after dark.
LuminAID Sales and Operations Manager Daphna made learning to grill her summer project this year, and she shares some of her favorite grilling recipes and guides here.
Emergencies come at unexpected times. That’s part of what makes them emergencies: you don’t see them coming.

We put our heads together with our partners at The Dyrt to give you these three scenarios you should be aware of, and tips for how to prepare so you and your family stay safe.
